Senior Systems Engineering Support Consultant
The Goal is looking to hire a Systems Engineering Support consultant to join our team in Suitland, MD.

Location / Schedule:  Suitland, MD (4 days a week, 1 day remote)

Project Overview:
The Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) contractor support team provides a variety of services to the SE&I Organization of the 2020 Census Program. SE&I and its support team serves to manage development of the System of Systems that will support the 2020 Census. The team uses the standard program management concepts of schedule, risk, issue, configuration, and quality assurance management to accomplish these tasks.

The team interfaces with senior client leadership, client team members, and other contractors on a daily basis to provide the following support:

  • Establish, execute, and coordinate systems engineering tasks for the Program
  • Guide the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, operations and maintenance of systems and capabilities
  • Support the management of the integrated Program and Project schedules
  • Define, prepare, and execute Program and Project level test plans in accordance with the release schedule
  • Define, implement, and manage a Metadata Registry (MDR) for the System of Systems
  • Facilitate technical decision making, documentation, and communication of Program engineering efforts
  • Identify risks and issues, assess root causes, recommend solutions, and facilitate the implementation of solutions
  • Provide engineering analysis, support, and guidance throughout the Enterprise Software Development Lifecycle (ESDLC)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Organization and the Chief Program Engineer in designing, building, integration, and testing of the systems to meet the business and technical requirements
  • Facilitate technical decision making, documentation, and communication for Program technical/engineering efforts
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and technical leads to monitor the integration of dependent technical systems per the implementation plan
  • Validate that systems fulfill business and technical requirements
  • Provide engineering analysis, support, and guidance that adhere to Enterprise policies/standards for Project teams developing IT solutions at various SDLC phases
  • Assess and diagnose problems, identify root causes of technical problems, recommend solutions, and facilitate the implementation of these solutions

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related field (Systems Engineering or Computer Science preferred)
  • Technical experience on waterfall or agile scrum IT projects within an SDLC lifecycle
  • Comfort with a high-degree of client and contractor interaction
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation development skills
  • Ability to obtain a Census public trust (8-12 week process
